The gigolo

Well known as a street performer in Groningen and Oldenburg because of his voice, music and charmes. William still playes his songs on the guitar and mouth-organ. Maceál playing on one side of the street and William on the other, playing the same instruments, didn't work out. When Maceál learned to play the squeeze box and the tea-chest-bass they tried to play someting together. Maceál already had a duo with Dieb and introduced William to the band.

With Rapalje he sings and plays the gitouki, bodhrán and tea-chest-bass, known as 'The Big Guy'. His first introduction was on the CD 'Celts in Kilts'. He sang the song 'Jock Stuart' and played gitouki on 'The Drunken Sailor' and 'William's Favourite'. He was a guest musician on this CD and his picture was not on the cover. Now it is.

Because William is always hungry, he is always hunting for food. To prepare his meal he has to bring in big pieces of dead wood. "You want fire, you need wood (and Dieb)". The leftovers and the scraps are generously shared with Dieb and Maceál. He has no problems with carrying heavy things like big loudspeakers, gallons of beer, 'zware shag', logs and women.
