The Jolly Beggar ist das allererste Lied auf unserer allerersten CD, Celts in Kilts, das sp\u00e4ter in unsere Rakkish Paddies-CD aufgenommen wurde. Sogar William war noch nicht f\u00fcr die allererste Aufnahme des Jolly Beggar da. F\u00fcr dieses Video bei William’s Place sind zum Gl\u00fcck sowohl David als auch William da und wir klingen viel besser und harmonischer.<\/p>\n

Auf dem Originalcover von Celts in Kilts wurde William in das Bild photoshopped, wobei sein Kopf ein Huhn ersetzte =) Sie k\u00f6nnen die Geschichte auf dem Bild unten sehen.<\/p>\n

Background Info<\/h2>\n

The Jolly Beggar, auch bekannt als der Gaberlunzieman, ist die Child ballad 279. Der Chor des Liedes inspirierte Zeilen in Lord Byrons Gedicht „So, we’ll go no more a roving“. The\u00a0Child Ballads sind 305 traditionelle Balladen aus England und Schottland und ihre amerikanischen Varianten, die in der zweiten H\u00e4lfte des 19. Jahrhunderts von Francis James Child anthologisiert wurden. Ihre Texte und Studien von Child wurden als The English and Scottish Popular Ballads ver\u00f6ffentlicht. Die Melodien der meisten Balladen wurden von Bertrand Harris Bronson in und um die 1960er Jahre gesammelt und ver\u00f6ffentlicht.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
