We spelen The Strayaway Child meestal tijdens onze theatershows met onze geweldige danseressen Rosalie & Madelief, op Zomerfolk spelen we dit nummer met de bodypaint op het podium. Deze video is van toen we voor het eerst onze nieuwe cd Scotland’s Story presenteerden in O’ceallaigh Irish Pub. Dieb speelt al onze moeilijke nummers perfect en raakt nooit in de war, dit nummer is de enige uitzondering, het heeft zes vioolpartijen en om de een of andere reden heeft Dieb het moeilijk om ze uit elkaar te houden, gelukkig zijn we er altijd om hem te helpen =)<\/p>\n

Deze klassieke 6-delige Jig werd voor het eerst opgenomen door wijlen Michael Gorman (1895-1970), een fiddler uit County Sligo die een groot deel van zijn volwassen leven in de omgeving van Londen doorbracht. Het deuntje werd eind jaren zeventig gepopulariseerd door Kevin Burke en The Bothy Band. The Chieftains (een van onze favoriete bands) hebben dit nummer opgenomen op hun album A Chieftains Celebration.<\/p>\n
