Video: Your connection with us – Rapalje Show 63

We want to connect with you and we have very many possibilities to do this.

Because we can be online. We can be on YouTube, on Facebook, on Instagram

We have a home page and of course we go places: We go everywhere, where you are and where you want to come, as a band

And we like to see you and you like to see you each other

And what I really like what you’re doing is, what I also see in these these live streams, is that you are also connecting with each others in the comments.
You say hello to each other

You can send your presents here:

Video: Scotland’s Story at Castlefest

Two thousand years ago the Celts were driven off of mainland Europe.

All Celts? No, one band bravely resisted the influx of modern pop and rock and found their own place in the world of music.

Armed with nothing but their voices and instruments, Rapalje is raiding clubs and halls far and wide, looking for victims to carry away on a musical journey through Scottish Highlands, Irish valleys, taverns and inns.

Ladies and gentlemen, let’s dance…

Video: Last concert before our holidays – Rapalje Show 62

Good evening, from this little village in Germany called “Ekern”.

This is a very old farmhouse. Like ages the whole family has been working here.

We’re going to watch my colleagues to get dressed. Because about an hour ago we were standing outside here. Naked on the farmland for a sexy beard photo picture

Video: Livestreaming from Maceál’s holiday in Spain – Rapalje Show 61

I’m sitting here, I really got nothing, only a rental car and my drone and my phone.

It’s also a very nice test if it’s even possible to do a livestream from the most remote area we can find right here in In Spain.

I’m sitting here on the stones Lights from a car and now I can relax and start my live stream in Guadalest. With a beautiful castle over there. I saw a nice lake A really Blue Lake.

I got your comments. I see you I see you there. I’m not all alone. The Internet is very good at some point but very bad when you’re remote like here in the middle of the mountains. I want to talk about my trip here in Spain, I’m on holiday And I made some really beautiful videos,

We have something new.

I’m trying it here during my holidays here in Spain and that’s this very lightweight bag. I just was trying if this is any good to travel with because it’s It’s only fabric it’s only cotton with ropes on it and I was using as a backpack. I just put it on our on our shop on internet on our home page So if you have someone to travel around with this backpack from Rapalje. I had really heavy stuff in it I really packed it full of things.

It is a special holiday here in this area it’s the reason that all shops are closed And that’s the reason that it’s there’s really nothing here in this area in Spain right now To be honest: I don’t feel very secure here and if something happens, well This is where I am: The worst situation I could think about doing a livestream for you

Video: Never Mind the Strangers @ Castlefest

A tribute to all the people who’ve helped and stuck with us along the way

It takes two to get together
It takes time to make it last
We’ll all end up in some way
Like the drink in last night’s glass
But we’ll take this chance together
Lets not think about the end
Never mind the strangers
‘Cos I’ll always be your friend
Until the end

We’ve crossed the sea together
We’ve had our ups and downs
We’ve gone further than we’ve ever dreamed
From our county Galway home
If we’re up on top tomorrow
Or if it all just ends
Never mind the strangers
‘Cos I’ll always be your friend
Until the end

It has’nt all been easy
But sure that’s the way it is
We’ve been shaken, rocked and rattled
Taken jabs and body blows
There’s a strenght in being together
Like a steel bar that won’t bend
Never mind the strangers
‘Cos I’ll always be your friend
Until the end

Even now it’s hard to think back
When did it all begin
Was it some night drinking in Gay Brownes pub
Every soul is welcomed in
On this fine summers evening
As the blue of night descends
Never mind the strangers
‘Cos I’ll always be your friend
Until the end

We’ve seen the other side of life
And no been too impressed
It does’nt beat a day at home
If you put it to the test
But at least we took the challenge
We did’nt just pretend
Never mind the strangers
‘Cos I’ll always
Always be your friend
Until the end

Video: Your and Maceál’s hobbies – Rapalje Show 59

Welcome in my garden.

Something happened in my garden. Look. Our grumpy gnome got a girlfriend. I really don’t know how she got here. So I need a name for her.

Many people ask me are my band colleagues what kind of hobbies we have

I would like to talk about our hobbies and your hobby because I think a hobby is very important.

I have hobbies, but I’m not doing my hobbies enough

Spend a lot of time at making music,  which is also a hobby to be honest

Video: Caledonia at Castlefest – Celtic Folk Music from Scotland

Caledonia is the Latin name given by the Romans to the land in today’s Scotland,

north of their province of Britannia, beyond the frontier of their empire. The etymology of the name is probably from a P-Celtic source. Its modern usage is as a romantic or poetic name for Scotland as a whole, comparable with Hibernia for Ireland and Cambria for Wales.

The exact location of what the Romans called Caledonia in the early stages of Britannia is uncertain, and the boundaries are unlikely to have been fixed until the building of Hadrian’s Wall. From then onwards, Caledonia stood to the north of the wall, and to the south was the Roman province of Britannia (consisting of most of what is now England and Wales).During the brief Roman military incursions into central and northern Scotland, the Scottish Lowlands were indeed absorbed into the province of Britannia, and the name was also used by the Romans, prior to their conquest of the southern and central parts of the island, to refer to the whole island of Great Britain.

The modern use of “Caledonia” in English and Scots is either as a historical description of northern Britain during the Roman era or as a romantic or poetic name for Scotland as a whole.

In music, “Caledonia” is a popular folk ballad written by Dougie MacLean in 1977 and published in 1979 on an album of the same name; it has since been covered by various other artists, including Amy Macdonald

Video: Let’s design your new T-shirts – Rapalje Show 58

Your new T-shirts!

I would like to have some ideas about the new T-shirts we are going to design. Because you have to wear them. Or you may want to wear them. I need to know what you like.

We are going to design a T-shirt you actually want to wear. A T-shirt you like. First thing is the shape of the T-shirt and the fabric.

No matter if you’re a man or a woman. You can choose for a V neck.

We need to pick a colour that you choose the most and that you want. Most bands have black, most people want black. We are selling much more black T-shirts than any other colour. In the summer we are going to have a new colour for sure It would be nice if we could have your own T-shirt. Your own colour. That’s actually not a bad idea. To have your own design T-shirt. That’s something for Patreon. If you want your own T-shirt. Something I can think about for Patreon: Your own colour, your own print A very special made T-shirt and we send over.

Do you want the front and back? With, for example, a text. My idea is to put a logo on it. Either the newest logo or an older logo. Or both logos. Please comment on that.

I think this colour would also look amazing on a very dark brown for example. For now I want to make the T-shirt for our show theatre show “Into Folk”. So when you want to buy the CD you get the T-shirt and we get a package. You’ll get many things. So please write in the comments.

What shape of T-shirt? Which colour Print? on the back or the front?
Or both Old logo? New logo? And what about the text? For example: “I’m Into Folk” Or another one. On the front? Or on the back? On which colour of T-shirt?

So give us ideas. Write the comments as much as you can.

One big thing to help us out is to be a patron on patreon.com. And you will help me out to get the lights to run the studio. To get the gear. To make Rapalje Shows. And to do all the work. And because of our patrons I’m really never going to quit this. And do a live stream and edit then for YouTube as well.

There are some patrons who are really generous. I really like to thank some special patrons: Michael Witt, Bjorn van Rijszen, Simone Baumgartner, Lorna Wilbur, Penny Carlsen and kalotte. These are the patrons that really deserve to get their names on the live streams and Rapalje Show edits from YouTube. Thank you very much!

A very good text for a T-shirt, I know: “Be easy and free” Bye, see you next time Next week on Facebook live And every Sunday on YouTube.

Yours, Maceál
